Description: Bamurru Plains is located on Swim Creek Station, a coastal buffalo pastoral property near Point Stuart in the Mary River Region. The station is 10 kilometres from Kakadu's western boundary. Rustically chic, it blends well with the surrounding countryside. The attraction lies in the birdlife and wildlife of the surrounding floodplains and savannah woodland, while guests are still able enjoy the some wild bush luxury. As the property is a working buffalo station, any guests wishing to self drive are required to leave their vehicles at the entrance of the property from where a staff member will pick them up and drive them 20 minutes to the camp. The property is just over 100 kilometres east of Darwin and 100 kilometres from Jabiru in Kakadu National Park. The property is 20 minutes flight by light aircraft from Darwin airport, 20 minutes from Kakadu National Park or 3 hours drive from Darwin and 2 ½ hours from Jabiru.
Rooms: 9 Individual safari suites, each designed to blend with the surrounding bush. The "freestanding safari bungalows" are nestled amongst the pandanus vegetation on the edge of the wetlands. Each bungalow is spacious, cool and built on raised platforms. Bungalows have an ensuite bathroom and a deck overlooking the floodplains.
Please note this is a ‘camp’ and the safari bungalows do not have televisions, CD players, mini-bars, telephones or internet access.
