Upon arrival in Sydney you will be met at the airport by an APT representative. From here, board your coach for Coffs Harbour on the New South Wales central coast. As you journey along the coast admire the golden beaches and stunning turquoise waters stretching out to the horizon. On arrival in Coffs Harbour this evening you will be taken to your hotel and given time to settle in, then join your fellow travellers for a Welcome Dinner and Drinks; an ideal time to get to know everyone.

Visit bohemian Byron Bay with its artists' community and unspoilt beaches making it a popular holiday spot with many Australians. It's also home to Cape Byron the most easterly point of the Australian mainland; enjoy some free time to explore. Travel to Brisbane via the Gold Coast with its 35 miles of beautiful golden sand beaches and clear waters. On your sightseeing tour of Brisbane you'll take in the mix of old and new architecture, its historical heritage and tropical climate all of which give Brisbane it's laid back appeal.

After breakfast visit Australia Zoo made famous by the late Steve Irwin and home to a large variety of local wildlife; of course the big attraction is the zoo's crocodiles, watch them feeding, lazing in the sun or 'having a go' at the keepers! Later pass the Sunshine Coast on your way to Hervey Bay to join a cruise over to Fraser Island, when in season you may also see migrating whales.

This morning you may wish to rise early for an escorted bird watching walk through native bushland (optional). Later with the 'Freedom of Choice' concept you can pick from two touring activities; either a 4WD drive adventure on the island or a humpback whale watching cruise (Aug-Oct). Tonight enjoy a Bush Tucker Talk before a delicious BBQ dinner including kangaroo, crocodile and prawns.

Depart Fraser Island and travel to Rockhampton where you'll visit the Botanic Gardens and Australia's longest National Trust classified street, Quay Street.

Visit Henderson Park to learn about daily life and the operation of a working cattle station. Travel onto Airlie Beach where you will board your cruise to Hamilton Island in the Whitsunday's for a two night stay.

Relax and enjoy your time on beautiful Hamilton Island. This evening pre-dinner drinks are served before dinner in your choice of restaurant.

Depart Hamilton Island and cruise back to the mainland and travel onto Townsville, Australia's largest tropical city. Continue to Mission Beach and from here you cruise to the tropical haven of Dunk Island.

Today is free to relax on Dunk Island, explore the walking trails, watch for birdlife and look out the native flowers, or take advantage of the resorts many other activities, such as parasailing or a guided jet ski tour (at own expense).

Return to the mainland and travel to the lush Atherton Tablelands for a wildlife cruise at Lake Barrine, visit Millaa Millaa Falls and the Curtain Fig Tree before travelling onto Port Douglas in Tropical North Queensland. This evening you have a choice of dining options.

Explore the world famous Great Barrier Reef your way with a choice of three Quicksilver cruises, all include a delicious lunch. After your cruise you will travel back down the coast to Cairns.

Journey aboard the Kuranda Scenic Railway up to the Rainforest Station and enjoy a performance by the Pamagirri Aboriginal Dancers, spend some time in the picturesque village of Kuranda and later ride the Kuranda Skyrail and marvel at the rainforest canopy below. Tonight a farewell dinner and drinks has been organised for you.

This morning is at leisure before your afternoon transfer to Cairns Airport.
