2

Enjoy a drive to Byron Bay, renowned for surf beaches that have attracted both wealthy city dwellers as well as bohemian lifestylers. Take in the view from Cape Byron, the Australian mainland's most easterly point. Watch the surfers, maybe even see dolphins off the point, and veiw the Cape Byron Lighthouse. Continue onto Kingscliff and stroll along the pristine beach located at the doorstep of your hotel whilst you watch the sun set.

3

This morning, a short drive takes you to Brisbane where you will have some time at leisure. Later on cruise to Moreton Island National Park for a two night stay at Tangalooma Wild Dolphin Resort; home to Queensland's wild dolphins.

Guests on the 10-day itinerary join this tour in Brisbane around midday.

4

Today is at leisure to explore the island; perhaps snorkel around the shipwrecks, try sand tobogganing, quad biking or take a 4WD tour of the island (activities at own expense). Tonight's highlight brings the opportunity to interact with the dolphins that swim close to the shore, most evenings dolphins swim up to the beach, and you'll have the opportunity to feed them fresh fish.

5

On your return to the mainland you will visit Australia Zoo, made famous by the late Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin. Then travel through the Sunshine Coast to Hervey Bay, a popular tourist destination. During Aug-Oct Humpback Whales may be seen offshore.

6

Today cruise to Fraser Island, offering exceptional beauty in the form of uninterrupted white beaches and striking-coloured sand cliffs. Explore the world's largest sand island in 4WD vehicles and discover unspoilt surf beaches, inland lakes and lush rainforest. If travelling between August to October look out for Humpback whales migrating to the breeding grounds.

7

Journey to Rockhampton located on the Tropic of Capricorn. Take a leisurely stroll around the Botanic Gardens, one of the best in regional Australia. Excellent specimens of palms, cycads and ferns are found throughout the grounds, and a Japanese garden gives a sense of peace and tranquillity.

8

Depart today for Daydream Island, on the way head to the sugar capital of Australia, Mackay before continuing onto Airlie Beach for your cruise to Daydream Island. The island, part of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park lies beside and archipelago of green islands in the blue tropical waters. Tonight enjoy a delightful dinner at the resort.

9

Today is your chance to voyage to the heart of the magnificent Great Barrier Reef aboard a catamaran. Arrive at Reefworld, one of the largest reef pontoons in Australia. Enjoy a reef education presentation and view the tropical fish from the underwater observatory and the semi-submersible. For the more adventurous follow a snorkelling trail and view the coral and sea life up close. A delicious tropical buffet lunch on board is included.

10

Depart Daydream Island for the mainland and head towards Townsville, North Queensland's largest city. Continue along the coast between lush mountains with tropical vegetation and sandy beaches. Your destination is Cairns, a cosmopolitan city where its residents enjoy an enviable tropical lifestyle. Cairns is where two of Australia's World Heritage areas converge - the Great Barrier Reef and the Wet Tropics Rainforest.

11

This morning following breakfast drive along the coast to Port Douglas, on arrival enjoy free time before heading to Kuranda, a village in the rainforest where you can wander the local markets.
