Queensland Explorer Pass
The Queensland Explorer Pass offers unlimited travel for three or six months across the Traveltrain network. See every corner of Queensland - from Cairns in the north, to Brisbane in the south and the Queensland outback that extends to Charlville, Longreach and Mount Isa.
Your three or six month travel window commences on your first date of travel and is valid for economy seats on all Traveltrain long distances services and connecting coach services. Pass holders have up to six months from the date of purchase to commence travel.
Pass holders may choose to upgrade their seat to a higher class of travel or to as sleeper by paying the relevant upgrade fees. Fees vary between services so please ask for details.
The Queensland Explorer Pass does not guarantee travel. Reservations and a valid ticket are required for each individual journey. Passes are not transferable and no refunds are available on passes that have been validated, lost or stolen.
The Queensland Explorer Pass is available for travel in economy seats on the following Traveltrain services:
Tilt Train (Bundaberg and Rockhampton only)
The Sunlander
Spirit of the Outback
The Inlander
The Westlander
Purchasers have six months from the date of purchase to commence travel, and three or six months from the first travel date to complete travel.
The Queensland Explorer Pass is not transferrable.
Available for unlimited travel in all Traveltrain long distance services and connecting coach services.
Subject to availability. Purchase of a Queensland Explorer Pass does not guarantee that the holder will be able to obtain accommodation on any passenger service. Reservations are essential.
The Queensland Explorer Pass is not a ticket. The pass must be presented at a Queensland Rail Travel Centre or Ticket Office to obtain a ticket for the journey prior to departure.
Travel is subject to Traveltrains Conditions of Carriage.
Translink, Kuranda Scenic Rail, Gulflander, Skyrail and Savannahlander are not vaild for travel on the Queensland Explorer Pass.
No refund will be given once a pass has ben validated, nor are refunds allowed on lost, stolen cancelled or expired passes.
Important Note: In order for clients to use their travel pass on Traveltrain services, contact must be made with Traveltrain Reservations on 1800 872 467 or +617 3235 7322. Alternatively, send an email to res.traveltrain@qr.com.au to make a booking for travel. All travel vouchers must be exchanged for the actual Queensland Explorer Pass before travel commences.
